Open source browser and jukebox Songbird on Friday said its new music player 1.2 version features new library organization, and a two way iTunes media function that can easily be synced to Apple’s iPhone and iPod touch.

The software automatically organize tracks based on its metadata, and has improved import and export capabilities between Apple’s ubiquitous iTunes.It also exposes more information from last.fm tracks and access more artist and tag information, including photos and music videos, packed with 10-band equalizer.

Meanwhile, the company said it has some known bugs in the playback of DRM-encrypted files and it does not support video import and playback, or CD burning.

Future upgrades promise further performance and stability gains, implementing additional audio features, as the company looks forward to building a world-class, open music player.
