As the Sony Xperia Z5 release date nears, official press renders of the handset have reportedly surfaced online. The leaked images confirm key configuration details of the upcoming flagship device.

According to Xperia Blog, Sony’s social media team unwittingly uploaded a slew of press photos of the upcoming Xperia Z5. Although, the images were removed almost immediately, Xperia Blog has a copy of all the published photos.

Going by the leaked images, Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z5 will sport a brand new 23-megapixel rear-facing camera unit with 1/2.3” Exmor RS sensor. GSM Arena reported that an earlier leak also suggested that the camera unit would feature advanced focusing capability with the help of hybrid auto-focusing system.

Sony is also expected to make the Z5 available in three hues, namely white, gold and a tint of turquoise. Speaking of design, there is apparently no change when compared to the predecessor Xperia Z3+/Z4. Therefore, the company is likely to stick to the synonymous Omnibalance design philosophy.

As far as the rumored Xperia Z5 specifications are concerned, Phone Arena reported that the handset will reportedly be powered by an octa-core (Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 810) processor. Also, it is believed that, the device will be backed by either a 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM capacity.

There is no word on the screen size, however, Sony has reportedly settled for a Quad HD display resolution of 1,440 x 2,560 pixels for the Z5.

Meanwhile, the Xperia Z5 is scheduled to be launched at the IFA 2015 event on Sept. 2. In addition, the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium packed with 4K display could also get unveiled alongside the flagship device.
