Actor George Clooney and his girlfriend of two years, Stacy Keibler, have reportedly gone their separate ways, after they realized they wanted different things in life.

A source close to the couple told People magazine, on Monday, that Clooney and Keibler, a former professional wrestler, broke up a few weeks ago explaining why they spent the 4th of July weekend apart.

“Stacy called it quits. She wants to have children and a family someday. She knows where George stands on that," the source told People. "They talked and they quietly stopped being a couple several weeks ago."

But Clooney and Keibler remain friendly, the source said, and added that they talk almost every day. “They were friends before they started dating and they'll be friends after. It was a friendly [breakup]," the source said.

Amidst multiple reports stating that the couple has split up, TMZ reported that the duo is still “shacking up,” and that it might be too soon to say that they have gone their separate ways. But, the TMZ report added that a breakup is imminent as the couple’s hectic work schedule has caused a rift in their relationship.

Clooney is currently busy with his new movie ‘Monuments Men,’ and Keibler is tied up with the shooting of her new show, ‘Supermarket Superstar.’ According to People, the duo was last photographed together back in March, in Berlin, where Clooney was filming his new movie.

Keibler spoke about her busy schedule during a recent interview with People magazine, and said that she hopes to travel once the show premieres July 22 on Lifetime.

"My schedule is keeping me pretty busy until the show airs and then hopefully I'll get the chance to go to Europe," she said.
