The main stage collapsed at Ottawa's Bluesfest Sunday during a Cheap Trick performance after a severe thunderstorm struck the area. It was not raining at the time. Several people were injured; one person suffered life-threatening injuries and another was severely injured.

The victim with life-threatening injuries suffered a wound to the abdomen, a fractured leg, and a fractured pelvis after part of the stage was destroyed, said paramedics.

At least three people were transported to hospitals and others were treated for minor non-life-threatening injuries by numerous on-site emergency vehicles.

According to Ottawa Fire Services, no one was found underneath the collapsed stage during a subsequent search.

Everyone is okay and we are so lucky to be alive and hope that all the fans are okay too, said the band, which left before the stage collapsed, on Facebook.

Environment Canada issued a warning Sunday Night that winds could reach up to 90 kilometers per hour.
