KEY POINTS

  • "Jedi: Survivor" will release in March 2023, according to a leak
  • The game will feature more Force powers and saber fighting styles
  • Minimum PC system requirements for the game were raised

The sequel to the acclaimed third-person action game "Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order" has almost wrapped up production, and it seems like fans won't have to wait long before they can get their hands on it.

The release date for "Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" as well as its minimum and recommended system requirements were leaked via its Steam page, PC Gamer reported. It was listed for a March 16, 2023, launch. However, the information has since been removed for unknown reasons, and the game's page has returned to its original state.

Should the March 16 release date prove to be true, then "Jedi: Survivor" will have to contend with Capcom's "Resident Evil 4 Remake," which is also due out that month. A torrent of other major titles like "Destiny 2: Lightfall," "Forspoken" and "Dead Space Remake" are also set to vie for the attention of gamers during the first quarter of next year.

"Star Wars Jedi: Survivor" will pick up five years after the events of the first game. Players will once again pick up Cal Kestis' lightsaber and embark on a quest throughout a galaxy that's now plagued with the Empire's dark influence.

Leaked gameplay details which have also been pulled from the Steam page suggested that "Jedi: Survivor" will be much like its predecessor. Its third-person, "Sekiro"-style combat system will remain unchanged, though players can expect new lightsaber fighting styles as well as Force powers.

Additionally, the retracted details suggested that the maps in the sequel will be larger than before, offering more side areas to explore in the new planets that will be included in the game on release.

The rest of "Jedi: Survivor" will apparently stay the same. It will still be a narrative-driven adventure told from the eyes of a Jedi Padawan-turned-Knight. Cal is more skilled and mature than before, and players can expect the challenge to rise accordingly.

For PC players, take note that the game's minimum requirements were raised. Equivalents of an Intel i7-7700 and NVIDIA GTX 1070 are needed to run the game at its lowest settings. However, this might still change once an official announcement is released.
