Steelers center Maurkice Pouncey, who suffered an ankle injury during the AFC Championship game, might miss the Super Bowl as a result.

According to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, Pouncey missed practice again Thursday and, citing unidentified sources, the rookie standout has broken bone damage in his left ankle to go along with a severe sprain.

Steelers officials have not yet confirmed whether or not Pouncey is expected to play in next Sunday's game, but backup center Chris Kemoeatu said Wednesday that Pouncey would not; a statement Kemoeatu retracted Thursday.

This lastest news could be considered a blow to the Steelers who are already quite banged up on both sides of the ball as it is as the team prepares for their matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
