Stocks added to losses on Wednesday after data showed new home sales unexpectedly fell in February, fueling worries about weakness in the housing sector.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 25.62 points, or 0.24 percent, at 10,863.21. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was down 4.21 points, or 0.36 percent, at 1,169.96. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> fell 12.14 points, or 0.50 percent, at 2,403.10.
