U.S. stocks advanced on Friday, sending major indexes up more than 1 percent, as reassuring reports on the fourth-quarter 2009 gross domestic product and January consumer sentiment rekindled the appetite for riskier assets.

* Standouts included technology, materials and energy sectors.

* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 112.53 points, or 1.11 percent, at 10,232.99. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 11.22 points, or 1.03 percent, at 1,095.75. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 21.74 points, or 1.00 percent, at 2,200.74.
