Stocks inched up at the open on Monday, rebounding slightly after ending with losses last week, after data showed consumer spending rose in May, even as savings touched their highest level in eight months.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 11.49 points, or 0.11 percent, at 10,155.30. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 0.94 points, or 0.09 percent, at 1,077.70. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 0.15 points, or 0.01 percent, at 2,223.63.
