Stocks rose further late on Tuesday, boosted by large gains in manufacturing and strong results from Pfizer Inc and UPS Inc.

The Dow Jones industrial average was up 151.71 points, or 1.28 percent, at 12,043.64. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index was up 22.07 points, or 1.72 percent, at 1,308.19. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 54.70 points, or 2.03 percent, at 2,754.78.
