Xiaomi will apparently be releasing a Gold Edition of the flagship Mi 5 on April 29, in addition to the already available Black, White and Purple versions. This information has been confirmed by the company via its Weibo account.

The Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition will be released as two variants with different configurations. One of them will come powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 processor, running at 1.8GHz. The graphics side of things will be handled by Adreno 530 GPU and the device will be backed by 3 GB of RAM. This edition will come equipped with 32 GB of native storage space.

The second variant of the Mi 5 will reportedly feature the same processor, however, it will be over-clocked at 2.15 GHz. Adreno 510 GPU will control the graphics, while the configurations will be backed by 3 GB of RAM. This particular unit will not have a 32 GB storage option, instead, Xiaomi will offer 64 GB of internal memory.

Speaking of price, the 32 GB Xiaomi Mi 5 Gold Edition will reportedly set the buyers back by nearly $305. The 64 GB model, on the other hand, will be priced at about $355.

To top it off, the bigger sibling Xiaomi Mi 5 Pro with 3D Glass back panel design can also be purchased on the same day as the Gold Edition for about $400. This particular model comes with 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of native storage space. Xiaomi will offer this handset in White and Black hues.

In general, Xiaomi devices can be purchased in the U.S. via many credible third-party e-retailers like Gear Best, Honor Buy and Geek Buying, among others. For instance, the Xiaomi Mi 5’s 64 GB regular Black variant is being sold at $481.89 in Gear Best.
