supernatural season 11 spoilers
Sam (Jared Padalecki, left) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will encounter deadly drama in the Season 11 premiere of "Supernatural." The CW

The boys are back! And according to a sneak-peek video of the upcoming “Supernatural” installment, titled "Out of the Darkness, into the Fire," the Winchester brothers will face some of the show’s darkest drama yet when the hit CW series returns with its Season 11 premiere Wednesday, Oct. 7.

In the lengthy premiere clip it is revealed that Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) will encounter something so terrifyingly gruesome as they travel through Nebraska, they’ll be forced to pull over and investigate.

As the duo walk around the crime scene, they notice a group of construction workers, whose throats are covered in thick, black veins, lying dead in the middle of the road. They also come across a family who has been killed in what looks like a shootout. (Could this have something to do with the release of The Darkness?)

“What the hell happened here?” Dean questions. But before the two are able to piece together the clues, they hear a noise – a startling noise. Just then, a construction worker appears – sporting the same suspicious marks that were spotted on the dead.

Dean pulls out his gun and tries his best to calm the man down. But the construction worker continues walking closer and closer to the pair. Before Dean has a chance to shoot the man someone else does.

“Weapons on the ground,” an officer shouts at the boys before asking them to show her their skin.

“Is this like a ‘Magic Mike’ moment?” Dean quips. But the officer is in no mood for jokes – especially with black-veined creatures walking around, terrorizing the community.

Sam and Dean prove they’re not sporting the grim marks around their necks, which is when the officer breathes a sigh of relief.

But she shouldn’t feel safe just yet. In the Season 11 trailer of “Supernatural” it was revealed that Sam will become infected with the very same disease that the construction workers had. The only question is: How did he get it? And more improtantly... can it be cured?

“Supernatural” will air its Season 11 premiere on Wednesday, Oct. 7, at 9 p.m. EDT on The CW.
