Although Sam Winchester’s rescue mission will take center stage on The CW’s “Supernatural,” Mary’s resurrection will also be heavily focused upon in the Season 12 premiere. After all, she has been resurrected after thirty years of being dead.

Misha Collins, who plays angel Castiel/Cas, teased what’s next for his character in the upcoming season. No longer demure and emotional, Cas is ready to play dirty. This is perfectly demonstrated in a scene shown in the video when Dean (Jensen Ackles), Mary (Samantha Smith) and Cas are looking for Sam (Jared Padalecki).

They go to a man and ask him who that blonde woman he drove yesterday is. Obviously they are seeking Lady Toni (Lady Blackmore) since she kidnapped Sam. The man claims not to know this blonde woman. So Castiel gets a little angry and hits him. Mary casts a sideways glance to her eldest son and asks, “That’s an angel?” Cas is back!

“I think Castiel is coming back in to Season 12 in a fighting spirit,” Collins says in the video. “He is angry that he dropped the ball with Lucifer. He feels like he made another bad choice and he’s coming out swinging at the beginning of Season 12.”

“He’s going after Lucifer, hunting him down and getting him,” the actor adds.

We also learn that the first time Castiel lays eyes on Mary, she points a gun at him. Way to go, Mary!

“Mary Winchester is a bad ass,” Collins explains, “She’s a hunter and we see her jump right into that early on in the show.”

“Cas and Mary I think share a certain outside quality so both of them don’t totally feel like they belong where they are,” Collins explains, “Mary has been in heaven for 30 years and Cas, when he showed up on ‘Supernatural,’ had been in heaven for more than 2,000 years.”

Cas understands what Mary is going through right now. She is adjusting to this changed world after years of being in heaven.
