The Swedish royal princesses looked stunning as they made a balcony appearance to greet the crowds who had gathered to wish King Carl XVI Gustaf a happy 70th birthday on Saturday. The family were dressed to the nines to celebrate the milestone birthday of the king at the Royal Palace of Stockholm.

While Prince Oscar made his balcony debut with his family, Princess Sofia, 31, made her first public appearance after giving birth to her son, Prince Alexander. The baby prince was wrapped up in a white blanket to keep warm in the cold weather and wore gray warmers and matching shoes. Princess Estelle, older sister of Oscar, a hyperactive child, stole the show in a pale blue coat and white socks and shoes.

Their stylish mom and heir to the Swedish throne, Princess Victoria, 38, looked beautiful in a white long coat paired with a white dress that had black and blue striped patterns. She matched her dress with black high heels, carried a black and gray clutch bag, with her hair styled into a bun, she topped with a white hat. Her husband Prince Daniel, 42, looked dapper in a navy suit paired with a crisp white shirt, pale blue tie and white pocket square. He completed his look in a pair of black lace-up shoes.

The three princesses were dressed in muted shades for the momentous occasion. Prince Carl Philip’s wife Sofia looked stunning in a long white coat with a black belt, paired with a nude dress. She accessorized with a pair of pearl drop earrings and styled her brunette tresses into a low bun and decorated with a floral accessory. The new mom paired her ensemble with nude high heels and carried a matching clutch bag.

The princess looked happy and well rested as she attended the choral tribute and cortege with her husband alongside her and the rest of the royal family before leaving festivities early to be with her newborn son. Carl Philip, 36, looked handsome in his complete military regalia. Meanwhile, Princess Madeleine, 33, had flown in from London with her husband Chris O’Neill to join her family in the five-day long celebrations.

The mother-of-two looked stunning in a pale pink coat and black and white fascinator. Her long blonde hair was left loose over her shoulders. She finished her look in a pair of black high heels and carried a matching clutch bag. Chris, 43, looked dapper in a navy suit paired with a white shirt and blue tie and a pair of black shoes.

The couple’s two kids Princess Leonore and Prince Nicolas were noticeably absent. Madeleine paid a sweet tribute to her father Carl Gustaf on her official Facebook page. She shared two throwback pictures of herself as a toddler with her dad. “Happy Birthday Pappa! I can’t believe you turned 70 today, you have more energy than all of us! Love you,” she captioned the pictures.

Meanwhile, the star of the ceremony, Carl Gustaf, was also dressed in his full military regalia. His wife Queen Silvia was by his side, dressed in a pale violet long coat, matching wide brimmed hat, purple shoes and also carried a matching clutch. In the night, the couple hosted a reception for all the guests, who had come to Sweden to celebrate the milestone birthday.

Almost all the European royals like Queen Margrethe, her older son Crown Prince Frederik and his wife Crown Princess Mary from Denmark; Prince Albert II of Monaco; Queen Sophia and King Juan Carlos of Spain and Norwegian royals King Harald V and Queen Sonja attended the lavish banquet.
