Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer is making a comeback in the smartwatch scene next week with its Connected 2 device. The new technologically advanced timepiece is going to run on Android Wear 2.0 and come with a bunch of new features to make it the perfect wearable for all sorts of occasions.

Last Friday, TAG Heuer already dropped the teaser image for the unveiling of the Connected smartwatch’s follow-up for 2017. Using the same tagline as the timepiece collection “Connected To Eternity” in a tweet, the company teased fans should stay tuned this coming Tuesday, March 14, for the big reveal.

The first Connected smartwatch was considered the most expensive Android Wear device at the time of its launch. With a $1,500 price tag, the device costs twice or even three times other premium Android smartwatches. Unsurprisingly, the price was worth it given it has the same appeal as the classic timepieces of TAG Heuer, which launched with Intel’s 1.6GHz Atom processor, 1 GB of RAM and a 410mAh battery. The excellent build quality, stellar performance and long battery life made the Connected the perfect smartwatch for professionals. Its lightweight body and its comfortable grip also contributed to its success.

Fans who are waiting for Connected 2, shouldn’t expect a major redesign or change with the second-generation smartwatch. Engadget reports that the design of the new Android Wear watch is going to be very familiar. The only change that TAG Heuer is implementing on the hardware side of things is the found on the device’s strap. There is a strong indication that the manufacturer will introduce a smaller case, various color options and many new features to make the wristwear more striking.

In addition to the fact that it would run Android Wear 2.0 out of the box, TAG Heuer’s Connected 2 will also have support for Android Pay, an improved and brighter screen and GPS. Its design is expected to be modular, so owners can easily switch it up for every fashion-related event. Because of this change in design, an insider has claimed that Tag Heuer’s new watch will launch with the TAG Connected Modular name, according to Phone Arena.

The confirmation that the new smartwatch is going to debut next Tuesday comes after TAG Heuer announced that the Connected has exceeded expectations by selling more than double than what was initially projected by the company.
