The 19 year-old heartthrob recently revealed to MTV News that he would love to be in a comedy film in the future. Lautner most for his role as Jacob in the mega-popular franchise: "The Twilight Saga." In the fall, we can expect the highly anticipated third installation of the series: "Breaking Dawn: Part 1."

As we all know, the "Twilight" films are not really...funny. However, if you think back a few years, Lautner's resume does include some knee-slapping flicks. As a pre-teen, Lautner played guest roles in "My Wife and Kids" and "The Bernie Mac Show." In 2005, when Lautner was only 13 years old, he gave his voice in the comedic and animated series "What's New Scooby-Doo?" and "Danny Phantom."

In 2005, he played the role of Eliot in "Cheaper By The Dozen 2," starring comedian Steve Martin. Fast forward 5 years, the "Breaking Dawn" star played Willy in the star-studded romantic comedy, "Valentine's Day."

"I've always loved comedies. I did [Saturday Night Live] and then I did the thing with Tom [Cruise] for the MTV Movie Awards, and then most recently I did the thing with Jason Sudeikis, which was a lot of fun," Lautner said. So, maybe Lautner does have some comedy chops! "I just like to have fun. I don't think I'm funny at all, but I just like to have fun."

Unfortunately, the young star will not be gracing us with any laughs in the near future. Before the release of "Breaking Dawn" on Nov. 18, he will be starring in an action sci-fi thriller. "Abduction," directed by John Singleton follows a teen (Lautner) who finds a baby picture of himself on a missing person's website. He then goes on to seek the truth about his identity. The film also stars Lily Collins, Alfred Molina, Maria Bello, Sigourney Weaver, Jason Isaacs, and Michael Nyqvist. Lautner has also be rumored to be working on another action film with Michael Bay involved.

Maybe in the future Lautner will release a comedy and we will see the full exent of his talent. "Abuduction" will be out in theatres Sept. 30.
