Singer Taylor Swift is now a neighbor of her ex-boyfriend’s grandmother, Ethel Kennedy.

Swift has just sealed a $4.8 million deal on a house located right across from the Kennedy Compound in Hyannis Port, Mass.

The singer recently split with the matriarch’s grandson, Conor Kennedy, but the breakup was said to be amicable and due to her busy schedule. She's going ahead with buying her new home. Rumors began that Swift was interested in the house over the summer, while she and Kennedy dated.

Swift’s new home is a “whitewash Colonial-style” house believed to have been built in 1928, the Daily Mail reports. The house spans 4,440 square feet of a 1.11-acre property along Nantucket Sound and has seven bedrooms and six bathrooms as well as a private beach. When it was put on the market for $13.5 million, the house was on Bloomberg Businessweek’s "Most Expensive Summer Homes 2010" list.

There seems to be no bad blood between Swift and the Kennedys. Ethel was quoted several times over the summer with kind words about the country star’s golfing and sailing skills as she accompanied Conor to family events and outings.

Ethel was also the one who confirmed Swift was buying a house in Cape Cod.

“I am happy that we'll all be neighbors. I'm thrilled,” she told Cape Cod Today.

Conor’s older half-sister Kathleen (Kick) Kennedy recently told Town & Country that she is a fan of Swift’s music.

“Taylor’s sweet, and so catchy I can’t believe it. I can’t get her songs out of my head,” she said.

Swift will reportedly receive accolades from the Kennedys at the Ripple of Hope Gala next month. The event, hosted by Ethel Kennedy, honors the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights. The gala will take place at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York's Times Square; Alec Baldwin will serve as the master of ceremonies.
