Singer Taylor Swift's presence at the Country Music Association Awards Wednesday, in which she was awarded Entertainer of the Year, coinciding with a record score of viewers for the show not seen since 2005.

The awards show drew an average of 16.8 million viewers for ABC network Wednesday night. The figure is higher than the 15.9 million viewers that tuned in last year but lower than the 17.7 million viewers in 2005 when CBS broadcasted the show.

Swift, 19 won awards in all four categories she had been nominated including the top prize of Entertainer of the Year. The night also featured two performances of her.

The CMAs drew more viewers than its opposite Academy of Country Music Awards in April, which recorded 14.8 million viewers.
