Surfboards were given out, Uncle Jesse made a cameo and a Teen Choice icon was honored at the 2015 Teen Choice Awards Sunday night. The event, hosted by Ludacris, Gina Rodriguez and Josh Peck was loaded with stars, music and a few emotional moments.

5 Seconds of Summer kicked off the 2015 Teen Choice Awards by playing their hit “She’s Kinda Hot.” Unfortunately the group didn’t take home any awards, but One Direction was a big winner of the night, walking away with six surfboards while Ed Sheeran received three.

After accepting the Choice TV Award for Breakout Show, "Empire" stars Jussie Smollett and Bryshere 'Yazz' Gray, also known as Jamal and Hakeem, performed "You're So Beautiful." Other musical performances included Rachel Platten playing "Fight Song," and Little Mix performing "Black Magic." The show came to a close with a performance of “I Don’t Like It, I Love It,” by Flo Rida and Robin Thicke.
