Teen Wolf Stiles
Dylan O’Brien will appear in “Teen Wolf” Season 6, despite his injuries on the set of “Maze Runner: The Death Cure.” MTV

“Teen Wolf” finally confirmed what fans had been waiting to hear: Dylan O’Brien is back! There were rumors that he wouldn’t be around once his “Maze Runner: The Death Cure” shooting schedule conflicted with the MTV drama. Once he suffered an injury on the movie’s Vancouver set that forced production to be postponed, viewers were even more convinced that Season 6 would be Stiles-less. As previously reported, that’s not the case. Here’s what we know about his Season 6 return.

1. Already Injured — O’Brien has apparently been dealing with multiple injuries this year. Showrunner Jeff Davis told Entertainment Weekly that the actor had a hand injury that needed to be written in before he left to film the movie. It still isn’t clear how the drama will handle his “Maze Runner” injuries, which reportedly included a facial fracture.

2. Stydia Romance — Though it’s not known if they’ll get together, Stiles and Lydia (Holland Roden) will start to acknowledge their feelings for each other in the new episodes. “They’re not only lingering feelings — they become a focus, a focal point of the next season,” Davis told TVLine in March. “Something big happens in the very first episode of Season 6 between Stiles and Lydia, which you’ll have to tune in to see.”

3. Stiles’ Career — “Teen Wolf” fans have watched the show hint at Stiles following his father into a career in law enforcement, but it won’t be a major focus this season, despite being in his senior year. However, it will be addressed eventually. “It’s something we touch on in the last episode, 610,” Davis told EW.

4. The Mystery — Stiles is the lone human on “Teen Wolf,” but he will still end up being in the center of all the supernatural drama. “Stiles is a big part of the season because a lot of this season’s mystery revolves around him,” Davis told EW. The last time Stiles was an integral part of a big mystery, he was possessed by a nogitsune, so that isn’t exactly reassuring news for Stiles fans.

While that’s plenty to whet audiences’ appetites for the new season, it doesn’t answer one big question: how many episodes is O’Brien in? He obviously had to miss filming at least a few episodes due to his Maze Runner injury. There is plenty of speculation that Stiles goes missing or leaves Beacon Hills for part of Season 6, but this news didn’t confirm or deny those rumors.

Perhaps the “Teen Wolf” team will give fans a hint at San Diego Comic-Con when they debut the Season 6 trailer. The cast is set to appear along with Davis on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. PDT in Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center.
