A Texas mother who abandoned her five-day-old son was arrested at a strip club where she was seeking a job, reports the Houston Chronicle.

Micah Alford, 26, was arrested for probation violation on Tuesday outside the Ritz Club in southeast Houston.

Alford is being held on $100,000 bail after being charged with violating her probation in a child endangerment case involving her own other four children. Alford failed to pass a drug test required as a term of her probation and the Galveston County officials issued the warrant for her on May 31. She was pregnant at the time. Only five days after giving birth Alford left her baby to apply for a job as a dancer at a strip club.

When the police arrested her she refused to tell them where her child was. However police found the baby after receiving a 9-1-1- call from two women who were caring for the child. Police said that it had received an anonymous tip-off on Sunday from a woman who had been caring for the child but had since given him to two other women who did not know officers were looking for him reports Mail Online. It was only when the ladies went to buy supplies for the baby that they found out that officials were looking for him and they alerted authorities and handed him over to them at the Walmart parking lot.

The baby was examined at the Texas Children's Hospital before being handed over to Child Protective Services. Alford's other three children are also in CPS' custody.

A custody hearing is set for Aug. 9.
