Tiger Woods was on Friday hurt in a car accident in Florida and taken to hospital, he has subsequently been released from hospital in a good condition, Reuters reported.

Woods was pulling out of his driveway when he crashed his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle into a fire hydrant Friday morning.

According to the report Woods' wife used a golf club to smash a window of his SUV to get him out.

The Florida Highway Patrol say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
