Golf star Tiger Woods has been seriously injured after crashing his car into a fire hydrant Friday morning in Florida.

Woods was pulling out of his driveway in his 2009 Cadillac sport utility vehicle when the crash took place.

According to reports from the Associated Press the golfer was taken to a nearby hospital with serious injuries.

The Florida Highway Patrol say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
