ABC’s “Time After Time” ended last week on a surprising note. Dr. John Stevenson (Josh Bowman), as known as the infamous serial killer Jack the Ripper, successfully escaped Dr. Brooke’s (Jennifer Ferrin) lab and stole the time machine to travel to 1918 Paris. Episode 4 also revealed that Brooke’s brother Griffin (Will Chase) is working with her. The siblings are extremely interested in the time machine and H.G. Wells’ (Freddie Stroma) friend.

What will happen on Sunday’s episode?

Although it isn’t clear what John’s motivations are of meeting his son, Henry Ayers, it is known that Henry died in 1918. Is he gone to save his son or see him one last time? Brooke had revealed to John that he had a son with a woman named Pauline and he was born in 1890. The news was shocking to the serial killer and it immediately piqued his interest.

According to the official synopsis of “Time After Time” Season 1, episode 5, Wells and his partner Jane Walker (Genesis Rodriguez) will soon discover the reason why Jack the Ripper is interested in going to Paris in 1918. Once he learns the reason, Wells becomes determined to stop him before he can alter the fabric of time.

Based on the episode’s description, it seems like John wants to save his son’s life and interfere with some event in history. He would certainly alter the fabric of time if he changed the course of certain predetermined events in Paris in 1918.

The promo of the upcoming episode shows John killing another person in 1918. The ripper never rests.

Meanwhile, Vanessa (Nicole Ari Parker) continues her research into project utopia, a project that her father was working on. Wells and Jane discovered that Vanessa’s father killed Chad’s (William Popp) father Robert Holland when they traveled to 1980. He stole some research of project utopia that apparently made him rich.

Vanessa asks questions about project utopia but she is warned that some secrets must stay buried.

Elsewhere, “Time After Time” will give more information about Brooke’s human experiments in her lab which are most certainly illegal in nature.

“Time After Time” airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
