The Tennessee Titans have released running back Shonn Greene ahead of the team’s scheduled minicamp. Green reported to the team but skipped the voluntary offseason workouts.

The 29-year-old Green signed a three-year $10 million contract with the Titans in 2013 and was set to earn $3.25 million for the 2015 NFL Season.

A third-round pick in the 2009 NFL draft, Greene suited up for the New York Jets from 2009 to 2012 and the Titans the last two seasons. For his career, Greene has accumulated 4,110 rushing yards on 72 carries with 24 touchdowns and has 534 receiving yards.

The Titans have running backs Bishop Sankey and David Cobb ahead of Greene in the team’s projected rotation at that position for the upcoming NFL season. Greene had two 1,000-plus rushing yards seasons in his final two seasons with the Jets but was not the same player with the Titans. In Tennessee, he had a combined 687 rushing yards on 171 carries with six touchdowns.

The Oakland Raiders are reportedly one of the teams interested in acquiring Greene now that the running back is a free agent.
