Anthony Anderson sent fans into a frenzy Wednesday afternoon when he sent out a tweet announcing the death of actor and friend Tommy Ford. The “Black-ish” star’s tweet contained false information and was deleted minutes later.

Ford has not passed away but according to the actor’s wife, Gina Ford, he is on life support. TMZ reports that Gina said Tommy is not expected to make it through the day. It’s reported that Ford, 52, landed in the hospital after suffering a stomach aneurysm. No further details about his condition are known at this time.

After deleting his tweet, Anderson sent out two other tweets, saying he was given “misinformation” about Ford’s condition. “We are still praying for Tommy. He needs us even more,” Anderson wrote. “Let us keep praying for #TommyFord he needs us more than ever!,” he said in another tweet.

While Anderson tweeted out wrong information, actress Terri J. Vaughn, who starred with Ford in the film “Who Did I Marry,” made sure to tweet out the correct info. “Tommy Ford has not passed! He’s not doing well at all. Keep praying for a miracle!”

Known for his role as Thomas “Tommy” Strawn on the hit sitcom “Martin,” Ford appeared on the show for all five seasons from 1992 to 1997. Often portrayed as a ladies’ man, Ford’s character would flirt with Tichina Arnold’s character Pam and other women. The character’s mysterious employment status also became a running gag on the show and is still joked about by fans today.
