The footwear giant TOMS has released a second line--eyewear. The new TOMS eyewear line will offer three classic styles of sunglasses and as always with TOMS One for One business model, the company will donate money to help give sight to those in need. TOMS will help give sight to people in need through medical treatment, prescription eyeglasses and sight-saving surgery, administered by its first Sight Giving Partner, Seva Foundation.

TOMS new launch was highly anticipated and was announced today at an event in Santa Monica, Calif. with hundreds of fans in attendence.

Ever since 2007, I've realized the TOMS One for One model could do more than give shoes - it could and should address other needs around the world, said Blake Mycoskie, TOMS founder. Sight is a fundamental need. The loss of sight has a dramatic impact on a person's life - and on his or her family and community. We're so excited to help more people in need and for TOMS to give in a whole new way.

The new TOMS frames are made in Italy, each style has a hand-painted stripe detail which symbolizes the three elements of One for One. The first stripe on the temples represents the purchaser. The stripe on the tips represents the person to whom the customer is helping give sight. And the middle stripe represents TOMS, bringing the two together.
