The top after-market NASDAQ gainers Monday were BGC Partners, Nuance Communications, Urban Outfitters, Astex Pharmaceuticals and BioMarin Pharmaceutical. The top after-market NASDAQ losers were Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Shoe Carnival, Glu Mobile and Molex Inc.

Gainers

BGC Partners Inc. (NASDAQ:BGCP) shares rallied 42.60 percent to $5.49 in post-market trading. The company announced Monday that it has entered into an agreement pursuant to which it will sell its fully electronic trading platform to NASDAQ OMX Group Inc., in a cash-and-stock deal worth as much as $1.23 billion.

Nuance Communications Inc. (NASDAQ:NUAN) shares climbed 8.23 percent to $21.84 in post-market trading on news that billionaire investor Carl Icahn has accumulated a 9.3 percent passive stake in the company.

Urban Outfitters Inc. (NASDAQ:URBN) shares surged 4.40 percent to $40.10 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $25.43, a 52-week high of $44.15 and $5.61 billion in market capitalization.

Astex Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:ASTX) shares gained 3.06 percent to $4.71 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $1.57, a 52-week high of $4.70 and $418.15 million in market capitalization.

BioMarin Pharmaceutical Inc. (NASDAQ:BMRN) shares advanced 1.88 percent to $62.75 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $31.91, a 52-week high of $63.57 and $7.75 billion in market capitalization.

Losers

Idenix Pharmaceuticals Inc. (NASDAQ:IDIX) shares declined 4.76 percent to $3.20 in post-market trading after plunging more than 5 percent in regular trading.

Shoe Carnival Inc. (NASDAQ:SCVL) shares plunged 2.77 percent to $19.65 in post-market trading. Its fourth quarter net profit declined to $3.21 million or $0.13 per share from $3.28 million or $0.16 per share in the same quarter last year. The company also expects first quarter adjusted net profit to be in a range of $0.36 to $0.44 per share on revenues of $226 million to $232 million, below analysts’ estimate of a net profit of $0.57 per share on revenues of $239.74 million.

Glu Mobile Inc. (NASDAQ:GLUU) shares declined 1.46 percent to $2.70 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $1.99, a 52-week high of $5.90 and $180.68 million in market capitalization.

Molex Inc. (NASDAQ:MOLX) shares declined 0.72 percent to $28.82 in post-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $21.89, a 52-week high of $29.56 and $5.15 billion in market capitalization.
