Sprint Nextel Corporation (NYSE:S) stock advanced 10.93 percent to $6.90 in pre-market trading, following media reports that DISH Network has proposed a merger with Sprint Nextel Corporation for $25.5 billion.

Life Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:LIFE) stock rallied 5.93 percent to $72.03 in pre-market trading. Life Technologies announced on Monday that it has acquired KDR Biotech Co., a Korean company that has been distributing its products since 1982, amidst reports of a $13 billion takeover deal of Life Technologies by Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. The genetic testing equipment maker’s board Sunday reportedly has favored the acquisition offer from Thermo Fisher over other takeover offers including that of KKR & Co. LLP, Blackstone Group, and Carlyle Group.

SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:LUFK) stock rose 2.08 percent to $11.29 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $3.71, a 52-week high of $13.88 and $1.78 billion in market capitalization.

Renewable Energy Group Inc. (NASDAQ:REGI) shares went up by 2.04 percent to $9.51 in pre-market trading. The stock has a 52-week low of $4.28, a 52-week high of $10.06 and $286.25 million in market capitalization.

Losers

First Majestic Silver Corp. (NYSE:AG) stock plummeted 10.65 percent to $12.50 in pre-market trading. The stocks of the silver producer were under pressure following a sharp fall of over 10 percent in silver price overnight, which sparked a selloff.

Pan American Silver Corp. (NASDAQ:PAAS) stock dropped 10.43 percent to $13.14 in pre-market trading. The company stock declined as the silver prices declined over 10 percent overnight.

Endeavour Silver Corp. (NYSE:EXK) stock declined by 10.23 percent to $5.00 in pre-market trading.
