The trailer of ‘Lovelace,’ the movie that chronicles the life of yesteryear porn star Linda Lovelace, has been released, and it shows actress Amanda Seyfried essaying the events that forced Lovelace to act in the 1970s popular movie, ‘Deep Throat.’

While Seyfried enacts the role of Lovelace, whose original name was Linda Susan Boreman, actors such as Sharon Stone, Hank Azaria, and Peter Sarsgaard take up supporting roles. The movie also stars James Franco, who plays the role of Hugh Hefner.

The movie portrays the transformation Seyfried’s character undergoes from an innocent 21-year-old to a battered woman after she is pushed into the world of pornography by her husband Chuck Traynor, played by Sarsgaard. Judging by the trailer, the movie will cover the roughly 10 years Lovelace was in business, and will focus on her rise to stardom, and the events that led to her downfall.

“She was forced into everything! She was forced into pornography,” Seyfried, who previously played the role of Cosette in Les Miserables, told the Inquisitr about her role.

“‘Deep Throat’ for her was really just an escape from her husband. There’s so much about her that no one knows. Unless you read her autobiography, you wouldn’t know. So we’re turning the tables on what the public thinks – on what their idea of her is – and it’s gonna be interesting.”

The film is helmed by documentary film directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman, and is slated for an August release. The film was screened at the Sundance Film Festival early this year, and The Hollywood Reporter reviewed the movie stating that it is a “smartly done account of the trials and tribulations of the first porn star.”
