Bayern Munich is nearing a $43.6 million deal to acquire Arturo Vidal from Juventus. Vidal’s agent, Fernando Felicevich, is in Munich already and finalizing the transfer of the Chilean midfielder, reports the Guardian.

The 28-year-old Vidal was previously linked with Manchester United and Arsenal for a move this summer. According to the same report, the new figure is a compromise after Bayern countered with more than $32 million after Juventus’ initial demand of roughly $49 million.

Vidal helped Juventus reach the Champions League final last season and his stock rose for the year. He also helped Chile win the Copa America title earlier this month.

Vidal, who is from Santiago, played for Colo-Colo in the premier league in Chile from 2005 to 2007 before joining Bayer Leverkusen in Germany from 2007 to 2011. He has also played for the Chilean national team since 2007.

Juventus has been active on the transfer season, acquiring the likes of Sami Khedira, Mario Mandzukic and Paulo Dybala earlier in the summer. Meanwhile, Bayern Munich has signed Douglas Costa and Bastian Schweinsteiger.
