"True Blood" actor Alexander Skarsgard has reportedly split from girlfriend of two years, Kate Bosworth. The "mutual" break-up comes at a time when Skarsgard's "True Blood" character is gaining recognition. The once villainous vampire, Eric, turns into a seemingly 'good' vampire after suffering from amnesia.

A source told Us Weekly that the split "happed a while ago" but the former couple has been hush-hush about it. Bosworth and Skarsgard will appear together in their upcoming film "Straw Dogs" which is scheduled to hit theaters in the fall.

"True Blood" stars real-life married couple Anna Paquin and Stephen Moyer. Paquin's character, Sookie Stackhouse, and Moyer's Bill Compton won't be spending much quality time together this season. Last season ended with Sookie and Bill apart and with Sookie thinking about Skarsgard's character.

And of Paquin's and Skarsgard's love scenes, the actor told GQ, "It's really clear to Steve [Moyer] and to everybody else what the deal is - which is that Anna is like a sister to me ... Those love scenes take quite a bit of acting, actually. A lot of acting."

Fun Facts About "True Blood"

The first season of 'True Blood' is primarily based off the book 'Dead Until Dark,' by Charlaine Harris.

Paquin grew up in New Zealand, Moyer is from Britain, and Skarsgard is Swedish.

'Bon Temps' is a fictitious town, but there is a website dedicated to it, and the vampire appropriate slogan is, "Everybody Wants a Taste."

Louisiana born, Ian Somerhalder ('Lost') originally auditioned for 'True Blood' but was not cast. He now plays the role of vampire Damon Salvatore in 'The Vampire Diaries.'
