The Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton, is once again reported to be butting heads with her husband Prince William’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, but fans of the royal family shouldn’t blindly believe the rumors, according to a new findings.

After Life & Style Magazine released a report in their Oct. 20 print issue claiming the queen was “livid” with Kate for wanting to “lessen her duties” in favor of being a more doting mother, Gossip Cop cleared up the allegations of a possible feud within the Windsor clan.

“A royal source close to the situation assures Gossip Cop the report is ‘not true,’ as Prince William and Queen Elizabeth did not have a ‘major fight’ over Middleton’s royal duties,” reports the site. “While it’s true the Duchess of Cambridge took some well-deserved time off after being struck down with severe morning sickness, she is gradually returning to the spotlight with a number of public appearances.”

According to Life & Style’s initial report, a royal insider shared that Kate is “happiest being a mother” to her two children and has “requested to do less in the public eye.” The tabloid claimed Prince William was fully supportive of Kate wanting to take a backseat to their life in the limelight but that his grandmother was not, reportedly “scolding” the Duke of Cambridge for complaining about his wife’s over-booked social calendar.

“She’s no nonsense when it comes to her royal duties and those of the family. She expects Kate to step up like [the queen] has,” an unnamed source said of the 91-year-old. “... William wasn’t backing down,” the insider added. “He put Kate’s wishes first and the queen was a bit stunned.”

The report came after Middleton, who is currently pregnant with her third child, took a break from her royal duties for several weeks while battling hyperemesis gravidarum, a condition also known as extreme morning sickness.

While the latest report may not be based entirely on truth, this so far from the first time it has been reported there is bad blood between the Duchess and the reigning monarch.
