Turkish gold imports rise to 7.49 metric tons in October from 18.23 tonnes a month earlier, according to data released by the Istanbul Gold Exchange on Tuesday.

Imports amounted to 76.64 metric tons in the first 10 months of 2011, already exceeding 2010 imports of 42.49 metric tons and the 2009 figure of 37.59 tonnes.

Turkey had imported 9.1 metric tons gold in October last year.
