Tyrese Gibson could finally breathe a sigh of relief! The actor’s ex-wife, Norma Mitchell Gibson, has decided to drop the abuse investigation against the actor.

Norma Mitchell claimed that the “Fast and Furious” star physically abused their 10-year-old daughter, Shayla. On his Instagram account, Gibson shared a photo of his current wife, Samantha Lee Gibson, for standing by his side throughout the ordeal.

According to The Blast, the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services closed their investigation on the actor for allegedly beating his daughter. Criminal charges will no longer be pursued as well.

Norma Mitchell accused her ex-husband of hurting their child in a document filed on Aug. 19. After the filing, the court granted Norma Mitchell temporary physical and legal custody of their child while investigations were still ongoing. The actor was also requested to stay at least 100 yards away from his child.

But last month, Gibson tried to reach out to Shayla by flying a plane at his daughter’s school. A banner with the words, “No matter what, daddy loves you Shayla,” was also shown. Norma Mitchell claimed that the deed violated Gibson’s restraining order.

At that time, her attorney, Aleen Laura Khanjian, also called Gibson’s move as “disturbing.” “This disturbing behavior is a complete violation of the restraining order. It is a reflection of Mr. Gibson’s erratic state of mind. Simply put, he doesn’t respect boundaries. If he did, this restraining order wouldn’t have been necessary,” she said.

Following the incident, Gibson uploaded a seven-minute video on his Facebook account (via People), where he asked Norma Mitchell to not take his baby away from him. “Don’t take my baby. This is all I got. Don’t take my baby, okay?” he said in the clip while in tears.

Gibson also revealed that he’s been giving his ex-wife spousal support to take care of her and Shayla. “I don’t hate you Norma. I don’t know why you hate me, but I don’t hate you. But you just can’t wake up on September 11th and accuse of something I didn’t do!” he said.

The actor and Norma Mitchell were together from 2007 to 2009.
