Oppo, known for packaging killer design with cutting-edge configurations, is apparently gearing up to introduce a new power-packed smartphone. The new Oppo R7s launch date is reported to fall sometime between Oct. 18 and Oct. 22 at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition 2015 (GITEX), scheduled in Dubai. A new report from China said that Oppo could be unveiling a 4 GB RAM option.
According to earlier reports, the Oppo R7s smartphone will come backed by a good 3 GB of RAM. But a new leak said that the company might offer a solid 4 GB RAM variant as well. Other rumored Oppo R7s specifications include a huge 5.5-inch Super AMOLED display, aided by a Full HD screen resolution of 1,920 x 1,080 pixels. Speaking of size, the dimension has been reported as 151.8 × 75.4 × 6.7 mm, Giz China reported.
As far as the hardware components go, various tech Websites and tipsters have been reporting different set of chipsets like MediaTek and Qualcomm. For example, GSM Arena said that the device will come powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor with a choice of 3 GB or 4 GB RAM to choose from. Giz China, on the other hand, said that the R7s will settle for an octa-core MediaTek SoC.
On the software front, the phone is expected to be run on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, straight out of the box. Being a new device, it is safe to assume that Android 6.0 Marshmallow will be rolled out at some point.
When it comes to memory specification, the Oppo R7s will apparently come equipped with 32 GB or as Giz China says, 16 GB of built-in storage space and microSD card slot for further expansion. There could be an impressive 13-megapixel rear-facing camera unit, in addition to a generous 8-megapixel snapper at the front for selfies and video chats.
The entire configuration will apparently be powered by a big 3,000 mAh battery unit. To top it off, in true Oppo fashion, the handset will reportedly feature the VOOC fast charging option.
