U.S. stocks gained at the open on Monday as investors looked to a busy week of economic data and corporate earnings after a sell-off in the previous session.

The U.S. dollar fell to a 14-month low against the euro, giving a boost to stocks.

The Dow Jones industrial average .DJIwas up 24.41 points, or 0.24 percent, at 9,996.59. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index .SPX gained 3.19 points, or 0.30 percent, to 1,082.79. The Nasdaq Composite Index .IXIC rose 9.85 points, or 0.46 percent, to 2,164.32.
