The 2022 World Cup is a few days old and the standings are starting to take shape. Now that every team in Group B has played one match, the United States Men's National Team has a better idea of what it must do in order to reach the knockout stage.

England leads the Group B standings with three points after winning 6-2 against Iran, which sits at the bottom of the bracket. Because the USA and Wales played to a 1-1 draw, both teams have point in the standings, tying them for second place in Group B with two matches left on their schedules.

What does that mean for the USA's chances of getting out of group play? The USMNT is a slight favorite to be one of the two teams from Group B that advances to the Round of 16.

England is an overwhelming -4000 favorite at FanDuel Sportsbook to survive group play with -550 odds to become the Group B winner. The USA has -115 odds to qualify for the knockout stage, putting the Americans just ahead of Wales, which has +120 odds . Iran has +430 odds to advance beyond the group stage.

The USA has +950 odds to be the Group B winner. Wales has +1100 odds to win the group.

The USA will play England Friday before concluding group play against Iran on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Wales is set to face Iran and England on the same dates, just in reverse order.

If Wales ends up winning one of its final two matches, the USA has to pick up at least one victory in order to make it out of Group B. If Wales ties Iran and gets beaten by England, two more draws by the USA would be enough to clinch a spot in the knockout stage.

Before failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup, the USA was eliminated in the Round of 16 in both 2010 and 2014. The USMNT has +190 odds to advance beyond Group B and lose their first elimination match.

The USA has +650 odds to be eliminated in the World Cup quarterfinals.
