“The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 brought Damon (Ian Somerhalder) back from the dead, but obviously he couldn’t be happy for long without Elena. Now that Alaric (Matt Davis) is a human again, Elena can’t get her memories back and she is moving on. Without Elena, Damon is just an angry, brooding vampire again. In a sneak peek video for episode 7, he shows Alaric just how frustrated he is that Elena can't remember their relationship. Meanwhile, in a second sneak-peek clip, Stefan (Paul Wesley) seems to have put his plan to kill Enzo (Michael Malarkey) on hold while they interrogate Tripp (Colin Ferguson). It seems that Tripp may now be the one who has to die in “The Vampire Diaries” Season 6 episode 7.
Sneak Peek No. 1
Damon recounts all of his crimes against Elena’s friends to Alaric, and it’s actually a pretty long list. From making Caroline (Candice Accola) a blood bag to snapping Jeremy’s (Steven R. McQueen) neck, the only memories of Damon Elena has left are pretty disturbing. Damon is trying not to blame Alaric for erasing all of Elena's good memories of him, but he's finding it rather difficult.
“If I could take it all back, I would,” Alaric says.
“I know,” Damon says. “And listen, despite the fact that my long list of dastardly deeds involves killing you, I’m glad you’re alive.”
It's a touching, heartfelt moment, so naturally Damon has to ruin it. “Although, had you actually died a vampire instead of becoming human, your compulsion would’ve gone away and Elena would be mine again,” he says.

Sneak Peek No. 2
In a weird “Vampire Diaries” twist, Damon is having a heartfelt moment while Stefan is torturing information out of people. Stefan, Enzo and Matt (Zach Roerig) aren’t willing to overlook Tripp’s vampire-hunting activities after he tried to bring their friends over the border.
Tripp couldn’t believe that Matt helped the vampires. “You went after my friends. What did you expect?” Matt asks.
“Your friends, who kill people!” Tripp yells.
Stefan wanted to kill Tripp while Enzo wanted information before they killed him. Matt argued that they could just wait till the vervain is out of his system before compelling him to forget everything.
“You don’t really think he is a one-man vampire-busting operation, do you?” Enzo asks.
When Tripp held Enzo hostage, he was able to see that Tripp clearly wasn’t working alone. He had plenty of other guys like Matt around, and those men could be dangerous.
