“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 is rumored to feature the return of Nina Dobrev as Elena Gilbert. However, there is still no confirmed date on when this will take place.

As a result, there are ongoing speculations that Dobrev may not return to the hit The CW series. Instead, someone who looks like her may take her place. However, Buddy TV just reported that “Lying Game” alum Alexandra Chando won’t play the role of Elena. Rather, she will give life to a doctor named Tara. The doctor will be working closely with Damon (Ian Somerhalder) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) and will make her debut in Episode 8, titled “We Have History Together.” As of late, it is still unclear how many episodes Chando will be a part of.

Meanwhile, the Somerhalder directed episode will also feature the Salvatore siblings heading to anger management classes. While there, they will go in search for their next victim. Elsewhere, a missing Sybil (Nathalie Kelley) will be found, and she will be teaching a group of high school students that she will later on use as leverage against Caroline (Candice Accola-King).

In other news, after Episode 8, Bonnie (Kat Graham) is expected to have a major storyline the next episode. Following her trip to Paris, Bonnie will return to Mystic Falls to reunite with her friends. The teaser for “Miss Mystic Falls” reveals that Bonnie will be wearing a vile of Enzo’s (Michael Malarkey) blood. This gives Caroline the impression that Bonnie wants to undergo a major transformation.

Miss Mystic Falls” was a statement that was uttered by Carol Lockwood (Susan Walters) during the first few seasons of “The Vampire Diaries” when a beauty pageant in the town took place. In Episode 9, the same event will be held, and Damon, Stefan, Bonnie, Caroline and Enzo will be in attendance.

“The Vampire Diaries” Season 8 will return to The CW on Jan. 13 at 8 p.m. EST.
