The annual Walpole Awards for Excellence, which took place at the Banqueting House, London, honoured luxury brands like Victoria Beckham, Alexander McQueen and Mulberry for their work representing the best in the luxury talent.

The award function which took place on Nov. 14, 2011, in association with Coutts, a founding member of Walpole, is regarded as an important event in the British luxury and fashion industry.

Previous recipients have included Mario Testino, Dame Vivienne Westwood, Daniel Craig, Sir Matthew Pinsent, Sir Ian McKellen, Annie Lennox, Dame Judi Dench and Lord Coe.

This year's award winners represent the very best of luxury talent and we are delighted to be able to recognise their outstanding achievements, stated Julia Carrick, CEO of Walpole.

The British Luxury Industry continues to perform exceptionally well and has grown significantly with London now the third largest international luxury market in the world. The winners of this year's Walpole Awards include McLaren Automotive for British Luxury Brand, Church's English Shoes for Luxury Craftsmanship, Sarah Burton from Alexander McQueen for British Luxury Design Talent, The Royal Opera House for British Cultural Excellence, Mulberry for British Luxury Brand Overseas, Victoria Beckham for Emerging British Luxury Brand and Selfridges - Project Ocean for Corporate Social Responsibility.

The awards are the focal point of the luxury industry calendar and honour the outstanding achievements of top tier companies spanning design, craftsmanship, business and culture, stated Michael Morley, Chief Executive of Coutts & Co.
