Yaya Toure converted two penalties and a deep shot from outside the box for a hat trick, and Manchester City overwhelmed Fulham for a 5-0 victory on Saturday in Premier League play at Etihad Stadium.

Toure now leads City with 16 goals on the season, and defender Martin Demichelis and midfielder Fernandinho added two more goals in the final six minutes of play.

Fulham was already down 1-0 after Toure’s first penalty goal, and things only became worse after defender Fernando Amorebieta committed a poor foul in the box and was issued a red card in the 53rd minute.

From there City piled on with four more goals, including Toure’s incredible right-footed score that was assisted by Samir Nasri following a set piece in the 65th minute.

In a dazzling offensive display, City fired off 22 total shots with 12 on target and didn’t allow the last-place Cottagers a single shot on goal. City was dominant in every facet of the game, forcing 13 corner kicks and maintaining possession 68-32.

Fernandinho converted one of those corners into his fourth goal of the year in the 84th off an assist from James Milner. Demichelis did the same after recovering a rebounded shot off a corner from Fernandinho.

The onslaught certainly helped City maintain a solid goal differential over first-place Chelsea and second-place Liverpool, but they remain six points back of first. City have played 28 games, compared to Chelsea's 31 and Liverpool's 30.
