Manchester United star Wayne Rooney made an appearance on the most recent edition of “Monday Night Raw,” getting involved in one of the matches. Rooney and WWE wrestler King Barrett got into an altercation, stemming from a war of words they shared on Twitter at the beginning of the year.

Rooney was sitting in the first row at WWE’s television taping in Manchester on Monday night. Barrett accompanied Sheamus to the ring for his match with Cesaro, and the English wrestler called out the soccer player, setting the stage for what would happen later in the match.

Barrett approached Rooney during the match, and the striker slapped him, knocking him to the ground. The crowd roared and distracted Sheamus, allowing Cesaro to get the win.

The feud between Rooney and Barrett began in February when Rooney drew a controversial penalty that helped Manchester United defeat Preston. Barrett, a Preston native, called out Rooney for taking a dive.
