Seventy scoreless minutes were quickly vanquished as Tottenham came back with the three goals in eight minutes to topple Manchester City on Sunday at White Hart Lane, 3-1.

City’s Samir Nasri scored in the fifth minute of play, and Spurs attacked failed to generate any goals until Clint Dempsey tied the match in the 75th minute.

Forward Jermain Defoe came in for Emmanuel Adebayor and fired home a goal late in the 79th for the lead, and Gareth Bale piled it on in the 82nd minute with his own strike.

It was Bale’s first match back since suffering a nasty ankle injury.

Bale assisted Dempsey’s goal, scooting the ball behind Man City’s back line across the area and the American booted it in for the equalizer.

Later, Lewis Holtby intercepted a Man City pass at midfield and found Defoe streaking up for the fastbreak. The Englishman then delivered a powerful strike for his 10th goal of the season.
