Wall St dips at open on payrolls data

Stocks fell at the open on Friday after a weaker-than-expected payrolls report indicated an economic recovery was still shaky.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dropped 22.10 points, or 0.19 percent, to 11,340.31. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> shed 2.53 points, or 0.21 percent, to 1,219.00. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> lost 5.23 points, or 0.20 percent, to 2,574.12.
