Wall St lower on tech and consumer shares
Stocks gave up earlier gains on Tuesday with the major indexes turning negative, led lower by technology and consumer discretionary shares.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> dipped 6.19 points, or 0.06 percent, to 9,810.30. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> eased 1.00 points, or 0.10 percent, to 1,049.47. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> fell 9.88 points, or 0.45 percent, to 2,164.02.
