Wall St opens higher after GDP data
Wall Street opened higher on Friday after a better-than-expected reading on second-quarter economic growth cheered investors ahead of a speech from Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke.
The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> was up 64.48 points, or 0.65 percent, at 10,050.29. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> was up 6.64 points, or 0.63 percent, at 1,053.86. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> was up 15.59 points, or 0.74 percent, at 2,134.28.
