Stocks declined further and the Dow industrials briefly fell more than 1 percent on Friday as investors took profits following data that showed further deterioration in the labor market and a tighter contraction in the services sector.

* Unemployment rate rose in March to highest since 1983.

* Research in Motion's U.S. shares rise 19.7 pct.

* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> fell 59.41 points, or 0.74 percent, to 7,918.67. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> dropped 5.31 points, or 0.64 percent, to 829.07. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> shed 5.90 points, or 0.37 percent, to 1,596.73.
