Stocks fell on Thursday, weighed by big-cap technology companies, while energy shares were lower alongside a nearly 2 percent drop in oil prices.

The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> fell 67.87 points, or 0.71 percent, to 9,475.65. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> lost 10.49 points, or 1.02 percent, to 1,017.63. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> gave up 29.80 points, or 1.47 percent, at 1,994.63. (Reporting by Leah Schnurr)
