Stocks fell on Tuesday, pressured by weak housing data and declining energy shares, but upbeat brokerage comments on Apple Inc buoyed the technology sector.

* The Dow Jones industrial average <.DJI> slipped 32.05 points, or 0.31 percent, to 10,410.36. The Standard & Poor's 500 Index <.SPX> fell 5.64 points, or 0.51 percent, to 1,107.56. The Nasdaq Composite Index <.IXIC> edged up 0.06 points at 2,289.15.
